Memory Tribute to Lizbeth Reidy |
Liz was a strong advocate for those she acted as guardian for. She was compasssionate and never afraid to address a difficult situation. The fact that she did not get paid to act as guardian, yet fulfilled this role to the best of her ability says a lot about her character. As an employee of Pathways, I had many opportunities to work closely with Liz and several of those she acted as guardian for. She will be remembered for her hard work, her tenacity and the compassion she showed to those she served and worked with.

I
offer my condolences to family and friends of Lizbeth. I have
worked at Pathways Community Mental Health for the last seventeen
years in Older Adult Services. I remember Lizbeth well from
the days that she managed the Palmer Home for the Aged. Many
of our consumers resided there. I had the opportunity to get
to know Lizbeth and always appreciated her compassion and willingness
to make the lives of the residents a little easier. I am sorry
to learn of her passing. God bless a wonderful woman.

I had the sincere pleasure of working with Liz Beth for over five years. She acted as legal guardian for a number of my residents suffering from dementia. She was a great advocate for my residents, so kind-hearted and always willing to help them no matter what she had to do. Everyone liked her, as she was beloved by our residents. We as a facility (MCMCF) will miss her very much

Liz was my landlord and I was very sad when I found out she had passed away. I also knew her through both of my jobs at Eastwood Nursing center and Marquette Adult Day Services. She was very nice and was a very good landlord and service to the community.

Liz
was a great neighbor....who loved her flowers and Jakie (Jake),
her dog. We talked thru the fence between our yards about gardening
and other things several times during the years and I truly
enjoyed the conversations, especially the tips on gardening.
I always talked to Jakie, who lately probably couldn't see who
I was, but recognized my voice. Jeff and I will really miss
her. Jeff has known Liz alot longer than I have and always had
good things to say about her. Her and Jakie will be missed.

Liz
Reidy was a great lady. She served the community of Marquette
well with being a court appointed guardian. She was a guardian
that her wards and others could count on. I being a social worker
in the community and having clients that had her for their guardian
am really going to miss her. There will be no other like her.
She was the BEST. She treated her wards well and always had
their best interests at heart. She would work diligently to
make sure she had all the information to make an informed decision
for them. We worked well together and got to know each other
more personally and she was not only a court appointed guardian
for my clients she became a friend. We had many laughs together.
I will never forget her calling me "Kiddo". You will be remembered
always in a special place in my heart, Liz. Miss you much, Kiddo.

I
am a clinical director at Pathways. I knew Liz Reidy in her
capacity as a guardian for people with serious mental illness
and developmental disabilities. She performed her guardianship
functions efficiently and with compassion for people without
family or friends who could do this for them. Her service was
a significant contribution to those at the margins of our society.
She will be missed. My condolences.
