MEMORY TRIBUTE

A Memory Tribute to Joy Yuill

Name: Brian Anderson

Ms. Yuill is a wonderful memory from solo and ensemble when I was in middle school at Phelps in Ishpeming. She really made me believe in what I was singing. I had the fortunate opportunity to see her again when I was taking part in Camp Independence at Bay Cliff this past summer . . . such an inspirational person, she touched so many lives, she will be missed.

Joy was an important and loving part of my high school musical career. she accompanied me and several other friends in solo and ensemble competition and we grew to be close. she inspired and pushed me to reach for beauty in music and in life. i was honored to have her play her harp for me when i graduated from Ishpeming High School. She was one of those rare adults that could connect with a youth still mapping his place in the world. She will be missed but not forgotten.

Please accept my deepest sympathy on the passing of Joy. Reading her obituary, it is apparent that her love for learning and sharing her talents with others reached far beyond her years as a student of Grinnell College. The College was proud to include her among its most loyal alumni. Sandy Durbala College and Alumni Relations Grinnell College

We were at her new home and looking at pictures, when I spotted my mother's picture on the wall. She said she didn't know who it was, and when I told her it was my Mother, she gratiously gave it to me. It was done in pastel chalk in 1903 when my Mother was 18 years old.Amelia Kent

My heaven is now filled with the sound of Ms. Yuill's music and love of people. I have know her since the early 50's when in the summer she taught my twin brother Ray and I how to swim at the red cross swim on Otsego Lake at the county Park, Years later when I managed the Norhtwoods she was always there with Northerns Choral and best of all when she played for Negaunee Highschool Chorus for my two youngest sons, Ben and Corey, A great Lady is now resting with our savior and I am sure she was told "Well done good and faithful servant!!! I will miss her only in time and not memories!!! Ronny Gilmore one of the "TWINS"
