MEMORY TRIBUTE

A Memory Tribute to Blanche Christensen

I am very sad to hear of Blanche passing, but I am happy for her sake that she is no longer struggling with illness and is in a better place. My deepest condolances to all of her family as I know you will miss her so much! The loving relationship that Blanche had with my father, Einar, was certainly a highlight in his life and I will always be grateful to her and so many in the family who extended love and care to him. She will always hold a special place in my heart. May the Lord comfort you all.

Dear Blanche, I will miss you, and thanks for putting up with all of us. Thank you for putting up with me when I blew up Maxie's shorts on the clothes line, thank you for letting us party until you shut the lights off in the basement and thank you for all the kind welcomes and goings. God Bless.

To Blanche's Family, Bill and I have had the pleasure of knowing Blanche since 1967 and she took great care of us when we went for clothes for our daughters, Nancy and Kathy. We became friends and enjoyed seeing her almost weekly, even if we didn't need something, we stopped into her shop just to say HI. She was so pleasant and friendly. We all had a good laugh when Max {who was in highschool at the time},came into the shop dressed in an outfit he had bought at St Vincent. Blanch was mortified but we laughed ourselves silly. She was a great woman and although we didn't see much of each other these last few years, when we did meet it was as if our last meeting was only yesterday.

We shall all miss her passing and our deepest sympathy to all her family. We shall not forget her she was "One fine woman!" Most sincerely, .

I will always remember my brother Bill talking about visiting Blanche when in Marquette and the humor and joy she brought to him. She was a real friend to Bill and I know she will be missed. God Bless and my best wishes to the Christensen family. .

Blanche was a very good friend of my dad's (Dave Vadnais) and at times almost like "his mom." I know she meant a lot to him and he was very glad to know her and have her a part of his life. I'll never forget having our annual Vadnais Sled Dog party on Lake Street and Blanche came walking down. Some of our more fragile friends stayed in the warm house. Not Blanche! She sat by the fire and visited with all of us and drank her one beer. And I remember thinking I hope I get to live such a full life like this wonderful woman. She was so nice and enjoyable to have around. My heart goes out to The Christensen Family during this time. Her presence will be missed, but she will live on through the fond memories we all have. I feel so blessed that I was able to know her.

Dad,Mom,Patty,Julie,Max and Cathy, I am so lucky to have married into this family and to have gotten to have Blanche as my grandma. From the first day of meeting her she treated me like I had been in the family forever. We will miss calling her and her always telling Michael to "make sure you take care of my girls and give them a hug". We know that she is looking down on us today and what a much better place this will be to know that we have such a special angel looking over us. We love you and miss you chum!

Dad and Mom Know that I love you!

Dearest Patty, Max, Denny, Kathy, & Julie,

No words can express my sadness with the passing of your beloved Mom and my dear, close friend. I consider myself so lucky to have been by her side the day before her passing, and to have her recognize my presence. In addition to being a friend, she was also a confidant who's tellings only she and I will ever realize. My deepest sympathies to all of you. I will miss you much Ma, and will think of you often. Save a stool for me. Love, Billy (the "Little Counterfeit").

May Blanche always reside with God and spend eternity looking at the waters of Lake Superior. She will always be remembered by my family as a loving a giving person with a wonderful sense of humor and a kind word for all. I will always cherish my visits with her on my vacations to Marquette and remember she and I sipping a beer together on her front porch. May she be at peace.

Dear Julie, Cathy, Dennis, Max and Patti, We are so very saddened to hear of 'ma's' passing. Such a dear, sweet woman who's heart was larger than anyone we've met. She always made us feel welcome when we stopped by on South Lake Street. We'll always remember when we 'partied' in the basement. Instead of coming downstairs to tell us to leave, she would use her psychology and turn off the electricity or furnace! We'd freeze and stumble our way to the outer doorway! South Lake Street will NEVER be the same with Blanche gone. We wish we could be there to help comfort you, but please know our prayers are with all of you during this time.

It is said that when you meet someone special, you'll never forget them and be touched by them. This and more than words can't express or descibe Mrs. Christiansen by me.I was first introduced to her by Max when I visted their home on Lake Street.

As soon as you walk in the door the wamth of the family grows upon you and in my case its like being home at Grandmothers when sitting with Mrs. Christiansen. To Max and family I've yet to meet, please know that I'm only a phone call away for anything you might need or even just to chat. With Love and Sympathy,

Dan Sackett
