Wetmore––John W. Kuhlman,
54, of Wetmore, entered eternal life Tuesday morning, February
26, 2008, at Marquette General Hospital, surrounded by his
loving family. He had been hospitalized the previous day.
John was born August 9, 1953, in Toledo, Ohio, a son of
Paul and Vivian (Watson) Kuhlman. He was raised in Oregon,
Ohio and attended Clay High School. He worked hard as a
tool and die machinist, working for several companies, including
Modern Tool and Die in Toledo, and Bel-Ker Tool and Die
in Temperance, MI. In 1993, the family moved from Oregon,
Ohio, to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, settling in Wetmore,
to enjoy the UP and all that it had to offer. John, a lover
of dogs, was presently assisting his wife, Anne, with her
business, Puppy Paws, a kennel and pet care center. Here
in the UP, John enjoyed the great outdoors, fishing, riding
his ATV, kayaking, hiking in the woods, and the company
of his 12 canine pals. John was, characteristically, a person
who placed others before himself and will be dearly missed
by family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Anne (Kaiser) Kuhlman, whom
he married August 16, 1974, of Wetmore; two sons, Uriah
(fiancée, Stashia) Kuhlman of Gladstone and Norman
(Stephanie) Gallagher of Franklinton, NC; three grandchildren,
Emma Bowden, Miranda and Matthew Gallagher; his parents,
Paul and Vivian Kuhlman of Oregon, OH; two sisters, Sue
(Greg) West and Debbie (Bill) Rowland both of Oregon, OH;
a brother, Kirk (Beth) Kuhlman of Oregon, OH; two sisters-in-law,
Peggy (Mark) Boggs and Charlene (Ron) Bundy both of Toledo,
OH; brothers-in-law, Stanley (Becky) Kaiser of Toledo, OH
and Tom Kaiser residing in Florida; and many nieces and
nephews. John was preceded in death by his grandparents,
William and Clara Kuhlman, Eloise and Harry Watson; father-in-law
and mother-in-law, Stanley and Irene Kaiser; and brother-in-law,
Ron Kaiser.
A memorial service will be held at Eden Lutheran Church
in Munising on Saturday, March 1, at 1:00 pm with Rev. Dr.
Lynn Hubbard, pastor, officiating. A reception will be held
at the Munising Township Fire Hall.
Condolences may be sent to the family at 16477 CC 25 Lane,
