MEMORY TRIBUTE

A Memory Tribute toRachel Tallio

Chic and Carol, I just wanted to say that I am thinking of both of you during this difficult time. You are in my prayers.

You always knew you'd have fun when you went to Aunt Rachel's. When she'd take Patti and I to the "hot pond", I remember her slathering on the sun oil and sitting in the sand with her fingers outstretched to tan and wishing I could do that. I also remember all the 4 leaf clovers she could find in her own back yard. We'll all miss her so much.

To the family of Rachel Tallio. I knew her well when I lived in Mqt. She was a great gal, bowled with her and had lots of fun with her. She will be missed. God bless you all.

We are Tiovo Kallio's grandchidren. Rachel was a specail woman and was so great with my grandpa. I don't know what they would have done without each others company for so many years. Grandpa and Rachel used to visit our house every year for a couple weeks in the wintertime in Florida and it was the best time. I think everyone always gained at least 10 pounds when they came. She was such a fantastic cook. We have visted Marquette evey year for the last 6 years and was it was great to see Rachel. Now that we have 2 kids(Kaylee 4 yrs and Joshua 2 yrs) camp is so much more fun and Rachel loved kids. When she came out to camp she would just sit and watch them all play. We enjoyed her and she will be missed especially when we come up this summer. May God surrond you with comfort through your tough times. Love, Mark and Sanna Laurich

I was sad to hear about "Aunt Rachel's" passing. I have fond memories of her from my youth visiting my grandparents, Elva and Gert Guidebeck, in Kenosha, WI. One memory in particular, it must have been in the late 60's-early 70's, was sitting barefoot (both of us!) outside on the glider. Anyway, our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family during this sad time.

I'm sad to learn of Aunt Rachel's death. She is the last of my grandmother's siblings to die. I enjoyed her visits to Indiana and my visit to her home a few years ago. She left behind a strong and devoted family who will carry on her tradition for fun and responsibility. Dr. Donna Winn, grandaughter of Jennie Guidebeck Pearson.

To Rachel's family: My husband Ron and I were saddened to hear of Rachel's death. My mother (Jayne Lyons Beaudoin) worked with Rachel for many years at Marquette Sr High and my husband, Ron, also knew Rachel and Verne. Rachel was a very nice lady and I know my mother enjoyed her friendship so much. Your memories of Rachel will carry you through this difficult time.

To Rachel's family, I remember visiting Marquette, MI during my gradeschool years with my family; father, Howard Youngblom and mother, Effie Tallio Youngblom and brother John. We would play with Marilyn/Mark and Kay/Marybeth.Marquette always had this different smell.......of iron ore. I knew that Rachel and Verne owned a tavern and were of the Catholic faith.

In 2001 I drove my parents to Marquette for a last visit as my mom died in July 2004. We were able to visit with many of you. One night we had dinner at Bobby and Carol's house. Rachel was there with Toivo. Rachel was loved by many, may she now rest in peace. Love to you all.....Janice Lubeck .

Rachel gave my Dad, Toivo and our family many many great memories. Our family enjoyed the many visits to our homes in California and Florida. We have such fond memories of Rachel getting a tan in just a few days and how she loved to cook. As my daughter said we all gained weight. We all will miss visiting Rachel when we visit Marquette, it will not be the same. Rachel is now with the angels which she always loved to wear. Rachel will be missed by everyone who knew her.

We will miss her so very much. It won't be the same without her smile, especially when she couldn't hear us! She was one terrific person and no one can replace her in my thoughts and love.
