I've had a movie reel of memories going on in my head since I heard the news about Bill. I can see his joy when we picked up a chubby little Golden Retriever pup that he named "Junior", who eventually became just "Juns". I remember how thrilled he was to get his first boat.and his second. I can see him rounding third base and heading for home and almost always having to slow down so he didn't pass the runner ahead of him. I remember him singing "You Send Me". I can hear him calling me "Fifi" and the many other variations he nicknamed me (Foofoo was my favorite). I remember his excitement at the birth of his nieces. I remember how wonderful he thought his Mother was, although he was never good at telling people how much he loved them. I can see his passion whenever November rolled around and opening day was at hand.

That's the thing about Bill, he didn't do things half way, it was full tilt, head on and over the top or nothing. He was part Peter Pan and part Tom Sawyer. He had a sense of humor that could make me grin even when I was furious with him. He was all of 19 years old when I met him, and to say I fell for him would be an understatement. I was madly in love. Our paths ran together for a few years and then we parted company. The nice thing is, we managed to remain friends, so I got to see his dream of a camp become a reality. I got to see Juns with gray whiskers.

Bill is part of the history of my life. It will take a very long time for my sadness to subside, if ever, but I know he wouldn't want to see me with these tears in my eyes. He never could tolerate crying much. The sequel to the movie in my head is this: Bill sitting on the deck at camp, next to him is his Dad and cousin Billy. As the sunsets, Bill reaches down and pets the golden head of Juns. My thoughts & prayers are with Bill's family. Love, Cyndi

Marie, I am sorry to hear about the passing of Bill. He was a great boss and someone I could always bounce things off either it be work or personnel. I haven't talked to him in awhile, but will always look back with good memories on the years I worked with him.
