Beaver Grove––-Arlene DeMarse,
86, of 416 Sunnybrook Lane, and lifelong Marquette area
resident, entered eternal life Saturday evening, November
10, 2007, in the loving care of her family and U.P. Home
Health and Hospice.
Arlene was born February 25, 1921, in Escanaba, a daughter
of William and Carolyn (Norton) Miner, and attended the
Escanaba area schools. In 1949 she married Joseph DeMarse
and the couple set about establishing their home and raising
a family in the Marquette area. Arlene was a loving wife,
mother, grandmother, best friend, and a homemaker who always
put her family first. In her spare time, Arlene loved visiting
with people and cherished every moment spent with her family.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Joseph; two daughters,
Penny White of Seattle, WA, and Jackie (Marty) Pogue of
Beaver Grove; four grandchildren, Chase Joseph White of
Seattle, WA, Shayle Arlene Cain of Pickford, Kendall Jean
Pogue of Beaver Grove, and Breanna Mary Pogue of Beaver
Grove; three great-grandchildren, Tanner, Tyler, and Keira;
and one sister, Betty (Alvin) Jackovich of Gladstone. She
was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends may call at the Fassbender Funeral Home on Tuesday
from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Funeral services will be held in
the funeral home on Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at 6:00 pm
with Greg Rhodea, Associate Pastor of Lake Superior Christian
Chruch officiating. Burial will be made in the Holy Cross
Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials
be directed to U.P. Home Health and Hospice, 829 Croix St.,
Negaunee, MI 49866. The family wishes to give special thanks
to Jim and Jennifer Claffey, UP Home Health & Hospice,
and to Amy Gauthier for the sincere kindness extended to
Arlene and her family.
