Dearborn––Robert W. “Bob”
Lyons, 74, former Marquette resident, entered eternal life
October 20, 2007, in Dearborn.
Bob was born June 22, 1933, in Marquette, a son of Robert
and Beatrice (Ohman) Lyons, and was a 1951 graduate of the
Graveraet High School. He served in the US Navy from 1952
until 1956. Bob was later employed as office manager for
several contractors during construction of K.I. Sawyer Air
Force Base. In 1962, he moved to Oshkosh, Wisconsin, and
was employed by Keikhaefer “Mercury Marine”
in boat testing, and returned to Lincoln Park, Michigan,
in 1971 where he continued his career in office management.
He later became co-owner and manager of the Oaks Restaurant
in Wyandotte and Paul Bunyan Pasty Shop in Westland. Bob
was employed by the Michigan Department of Mental Health
Hawthorne Center as a medical transcriptionist, retiring
in 1995.
Survivors include his brother, James A. (Ardis) Lyons of
Menasha, WI; nieces, Deborah Bunnell and Diane Stapleton
of Neenah, WI; nephews, Michael (Debbie) of Neenah, WI,
and Scott (Belinda) of Appleton, WI; twelve grand nieces
and nephews; one great-grand nephew; aunt and uncle, Mae
and Jack Ohman of Appleton, WI; and his “forty wives”
at Weight Watchers. Bob was preceded in death by his parents;
and a sister-in-law, Marge Doyle Lyons.
Friends may call at the Fassbender Funeral Home on Saturday,
October 27, beginning at 10:00 am. Funeral services will
follow at 12:00 noon Saturday with Rev. Leon Jarvis presiding.
Burial will be made in the Park Cemetery.
