I was saddened to learn Tuesday of Laura's death. She and Bud always welcomed me into their home and their pantry. They let me sleep on the couch when things weren't going well on the home front. She ran a lively, fun home. She was fun to talk to, even if she got a tad prolific. She was a woman with a lot of love for her family and their friends, even Heather's noisy, quirky musician friends -- myself included.

I feel honored to have known Laura, and I want to offer my condolences to her family, especially Heather, who had been in my corner for so long.

I regret I can't be there for visitation and services and the accompanying bittersweet reunions. I will think of Laura and drink coffee, or a reasonable substitute, from a saucer today in her memory. Thank you.

Aunt Laura was a terrific lady and was loved by so many. I have only the fondest memories of her. My condolences go out to Uncle Bud and family.

Dear Margie and Family, I didn't know your mom, but she sure raised a wonderful daughter. I know you've been attending to your mom's needs all summer (and before.) You are in my thoughts and prayers that soon the pain will be gone, and you'll have wonderful memories of the years you had together. Let's talk when you get home, and your life gets back to more normal. I'm so sorry for you loss, and please know that I am thinking of you fondly as well as your whole family. I'm giving you a virtual hug right now. Sue
