Marquette––Laura Ann Reynolds,
79, of 909 Lee Street, Marquette, entered eternal life Monday
morning, September 10, 2007, at her home, in the comforting
care of her family and the caregivers of UP Home Health
and Hospice.
Laura was born August 12, 1928 in Flint, a daughter of Walter
and Mabel (Ellis) Grainger, and was raised in Trenary. She
was a 1947 graduate of Trenary High School and later studied
music at Northern Michigan University. On June 26, 1949,
she married Bernard C. Reynolds in Chicago, where they resided
for three years before moving to Marquette. Together the
couple made their home and raised their family in Marquette.
Throughout the years, Laura was employed at the former St.
Luke’s Hospital, worked as an aide in the Marquette
Senior High School library, and later at the Marquette Senior
Center office for fourteen years. Laura was a longtime member
of St. Michael Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, Bernard C. Reynolds; four
daughters, Marjorie Lynn (Robert) Wood of Montague, MI,
Ramona (Scott) Emrick of Appleton, WI, Geralyn “Jill”
Reynolds of Marquette, and Heather Reynolds of Minneapolis,
MN; a son, Bernard “Bud” (Linda) Reynolds of
Marquette; her grandchildren, Christopher (Hollie) Wood,
Kellie (Eric) Mason, Jodi Reynolds, Sebastian “Ian”
Reynolds, Andrew, Nathaniel and Michael Emrick, and Heath
Reynolds; four great-grandchildren, Damien Wood and Hannah,
Connor and Camron Mason; two sisters, Esther Taylor of Gwinn
and Winifred Caldwell of Corpus Christie, TX. Laura was
preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Mabel Grainger;
brothers; Ralph, Arthur, Carl, and infant Walter Grainger.
Laura’s legacy left a footprint on the hearts of many.
She prioritized her life around home and family. Laura was
a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother,
and aunt. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
The family will receive relatives and friends at St. Michael
Catholic Church on Thursday, September 13, beginning at
11:00 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated
at 1:00 pm Thursday afternoon with Rev. Msgr. Jed Patrick
as celebrant. Pallbearers will be Bud and Sebastian Reynolds,
Lee Richards, Scott Emrick, Bob and Chris Wood, and Eric
Mason. Burial will be made in the Holy Cross Cemetery. A
dessert reception will be held in the St. Michael Parish
Center.
