Marquette––Ethel R. Davis,
90, of 1206 Waldo Street, Marquette, entered eternal life
Thursday morning, September 20, 2007, at the Marquette County
Medical Care Facility in Ishpeming. She had been in ill
health for the past month.
Born May 2, 1917, in Marquette, a daughter of Bernard and
Anna (Verdette) Baker, Ethel was a lifelong Marquette resident.
A homemaker, she possessed a keen sense of humor, was an
active BINGO participant, and enjoyed riding skidoos and
going on motorcycle jaunts with son, Al.
Survivors include her son, Gerald M. Davis of Marquette;
a sister, Vernette Miller residing in California; three
brothers, Harold and Orville Baker both of Marquette, and
Alvin (Gloria) Baker of Harvey; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Ethel was preceded in death
by her husband, Arthur Davis; a son, Allen Lee Davis; and
a brother, Arthur Baker.
Friends may call at the Fassbender Funeral Home on Sunday,
September 23, beginning at 3:00 pm. Funeral services will
follow at 5:00 pm Sunday with Rev. Lawrence Gauthier officiating.
Burial will be made in the Holy Cross Cemetery.
