Marquette––Ronald D. Ritari,
Sr., 68, peacefully entered eternal life Friday afternoon,
August 3, 2007, at his home.
Ron was born on November 22, 1938, in Negaunee, to Laurie
and Betty (Penhale) Ritari and was a lifelong resident of
Marquette. He worked for the Marquette Board of Light and
Power, retiring in 1996 with 38 years of service. After
retirement, Ron spent many enjoyable hours building a family
cabin. He enjoyed hunting, wood crafting, antiquing, listening
to old country music, and most of all riding his Harley
Davidson motorcycle with his loving wife, Lois.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Lois; two sons,
Rick (Cathy) Ritari of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Ron (Tama)
Ritari, Jr. of Marquette; one daughter, Julie (John) Baltes
of Madison, WI; four grandchildren, Ron Ritari III, Katelyn,
Caleb, and Christian Baltes; two brothers, Ken and Kevin;
one sister, Pam; and several nieces and nephews. He was
preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Catherine;
and brother, Tom.
Friends may call at the Fassbender Funeral Home from 4:00
to 6:00 pm on Tuesday, August 7. Funeral services will be
held Tuesday evening in the funeral home at 6:00 pm with
Rev. Frank Ricca officiating. Honoring the request of Ron
and his family, please come casual to celebrate Ron’s
life. Burial will be made in the Park Cemetery. In lieu
of flowers, memorials may be directed to Lake Superior Hospice,
914 W. Baraga Ave., Marquette, MI 49855.
