Marquette––Marion Kathryn
Bashaw, formerly of 228 W. Crescent Street, Marquette, entered
eternal life Tuesday afternoon, August 7, 2007, at Marquette
General Hospital.
Born in Marquette, a daughter of Louis and Kathryn (Kenney)
Bashaw, she was raised in Marquette and was a lifelong Marquette
area resident. Marion held a number of positions during
her lifetime, from serving as a secretary to Dr. Swinton
during World War II, later for the First National Bank and
Trust Company as an elevator operator in the main office
building, a position with Getz’s Department Store
as a salesclerk, and then with the former Our Own Bakery
in the packaging operation of the bakery. A member of St.
Peter Cathedral and altar society, Marion also performed
a variety of volunteer services for the Marquette Senior
Citizen’s Center. A caring person, she provided rides
for senior citizens and took a great interest in being of
whatever service she could be to others. Throughout her
life, Marion was a lover of music, herself having played
the violin during her school years.
Marion is survived by several cousins and friends, among
them lifelong friend, Lottie I. Voce of Marquette.

Cathedral on Thursday, August 9, beginning at 10:00 am.
