Marquette––Angela Josephine
House, 77, of Seattle, Washington, entered eternal life
early Thursday morning, August 30, 2007, in the Hospice
Suite located at Marquette General Hospital, in the loving
care of her family and the caregivers of Lake Superior Hospice.
Angela was born September 21, 1929, in Ponte Tresa, Italy,
a daughter of Giovanni and Maria (Brunelli) Gamberoni, and
was raised in Ponte Tresa. She was bright, and had begun
working toward entering medical school when she met and
married, Robert E. House who was then serving in the US
military. Angela came to the United States on April 11,
1959, and spent several years traveling around the country
as the wife of a military man. Throughout the years, she
had several unique opportunities and experiences. She spoke
five languages and was always, at heart and duty, a caregiver.
She was a caregiver to President Dwight Eisenhower's family
and later gave lessons in speaking Italian to then First
Lady, Barbara Bush. Angela was a person who took charge
of her life and did things her way. Her accomplishments
were many and her life was interesting from beginning to
end. Angela had been in Marquette for the past two weeks
to be nearer her son and family during her final illness.
Angela is survived by her son, Patrick (Mary Ann) House
of Marquette; two grandchildren, Cora and Michael House;
a sister, Mary Ella Gamberoni and a brother, John Gamberoni
both residing in Italy; and several nieces and nephews.
Honoring Angela's request no services will be scheduled.
