Marquette––Lee “Gram”
Cline, age 93, of 502 Mesnard Street, passed away on Thursday,
July 26, 2007 at her home while surrounded by her family.
Gram was born August 24, 1913 in Whitefish Township. The
Daughter of Alfred and Olive (Clarke) Pederson. She went
to work for the Marquette School system for 35 years, as
a cafeteria supervisor.
Our gram was a true Christian, she never judged, always
had a hot pot of soup on, she welcomed everybody, a true
historian, and resources for many people in the community.
Her life experiences brought history alive to many people,
she would often spend time with anyone who wanted to learn
how it was to live in a lighthouse or in Paradise, and she
remembered names, dates and events. The things that were
important to her were family; friends and she always looked
forward to her luncheon dates with her girlfriends. She
had a great sense of humor and was a passionate reader.
Our memories are at the farm with the family; dinners and
the costumes she used to make us. She raised her five brothers
after the passing of her father at the age of 13. Her family
will always look at the lighthouse and remember her as our
safe harbor from the storm.
