Harvey–– Christine M. Yuill,
68, of 158 Riverside Road, Harvey, died at home on Wednesday,
July 4, 2007.
Born May 21, 1939 in Detroit, the daughter of William P.
and Helene A. (Peter) Kramer, Christine was raised in Detroit
until the age of three when the family moved to Royal Oak.
She was a 1956 graduate of Royal Oak High School. She attended
Albion College for two years then transferred to the University
of Michigan where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts
degree in Education. On December 21, 1963 she married Robert
S. Yuill in Royal Oak. Christine taught elementary school
in Ann Arbor for a time, later raising her family while
residing in Buffalo, NY, and Mt Pleasant, MI. For over 20
years, she tutored people who struggle with dyslexia. In
June of 1997, Christine and Robert moved to the Marquette
area, drawn by the beauty of the area. Here, Christine enjoyed
birding, canoeing, hiking, reading, singing, enjoying music,
and being with friends. She was a member of the First Presbyterian
Church.
Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Robert; daughter,
Martha Yuill of St. Paul, MN; son, Stephen Yuill of Ishpeming;
sisters-in-law, Joy Yuill of Republic and Janet Kramer of
Holland; her aunt, Eleanor Peter of Negaunee; a niece, two
nephews, and several cousins. In addition to her parents,
Christine was preceded in death by her brother, Peter Kramer.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, July
28, at the First Presbyterian Church, Marquette. The family
will be available from 10:00 am to 11:00 am in the church
parlors. A reception will be held after the service. Memorials
