Marquette––Daniel G. Bess, 95, of 515 Ontario Avenue, Marquette, entered eternal life Saturday morning, May 5, 2007, at the Norlite Nursing Center. Daniel was born on September 29, 1911, in Ontonagon to George and Viola (Nehmer) Bess. On June 28, 1929, he married the former Hulda Gaabo and he had been a Marquette area resident since that time.
Survivors include his two sons, Martin (Rose) Bess, of Haines City, FL, and Jay Bess, of Marquette; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Hulda in 2003; and his parents.
Honoring Daniel’s wishes private services will be held. Inurnment will be made in Northland Chapel Gardens. .
