Huston––ARLEEN ILONA BARRY
CLARKE, beloved wife of Dr. Robert Clarke, of Houston passed
away on March 25, 2007. Arleen was born in Marquette, Michigan.
During the seventies and eighties she was a successful multi-media
model; working for many top fashion designers as a fashion
model. She also appeared in many magazines, billboard advertisements
and television commercials. She appeared, among many modeling
assignments, as the Keepsake Diamond Girl and the first
Black Label Girl. She is survived by her loving husband
Robert; her son Gregory Barry, of Fort Stockston, TX; stepsons,
Stewart Clarke, of Saco, ME, and Thomas Clarke, of Roanke,
VA; stepdaughter, Lauren Clarke, of Houston, TX; her brothers,
David (Diane) Barry, of Plymouth, MI, and Michael (Ardith)
Barry, of Marquette, MI; nieces Meghan Barry, of Marquette,
MI and Lisa (Dru) Virsik, of Lowell, MI; her nephew, Michael
(Michelle) Barry, of Marquette; special aunt, Virginia Somerville,
of Marquette, MI; her three longtime special amigos; Dentry
Triplett, Sally Kato and Karen Killingsworth, all of Houston,
TX, and her three surviving step grandchildren, Danielle
Clarke, of Boston, MA; Clarissa Clarke, of Rocky Mount,
VA, and Matthew Clarke, of Lenox, MA. Arleen was a wonderful
wife, mother, friend and she will be missed so very much
by all of her family and friends. Arleen was the daughter
of Harris and Ilona Barry of Marquette, Michigan who predeceased
her, as did her sister, Barbara Jean. A private memorial
dinner was held in Houston and a private graveside service
will be held in Marquette. If anyone wishes to make a donation
in Arleen’s name; she would want it to aid homeless
women, children and men.
