I
came to know Jean during my short stay as pastor of St. John's
Church in Marquette. Actually it was Jean who observed that
I had only a part time janitor to help me out and she volunteer
to work as a secretary serveral days a week. She of cours did
such a good job that not wanting to lose her, she was paid a
small stipend, hardly commensurate with her competency. Most
of her talents and achievements were hidden from the people
who knew her in Marquette if for no other reasont than Jean
never spoke about herself. She invited me to breakfast one morning
and introduced me to eggs"basted. Ever since I order them that
way. Funny how small things keep a good and wonderful person
in your memory......she kept up correspondence on occasion with
me but more often with Fr. Tom Bain, S.J. currently in our health
care center. May God welcome you Jean into paradise and thank
