I lived across the street from Gail and have been good friends w/ Lori for several years. I remember Aunt Pudge even though I have lived away for some time. She was a nice lady. I just wanted to say I am sorry to the Kuban kids and to Gail, Jim, Jimbo, Karen, Beave and Lori for your loss. My prayers are with your family.

I always brought my snowblowers and lawnmowers to Bill for a "tuneup." He came highly recommended. Each time I went there, we chatted for 15-20 minutes. I truly enjoyed those talks. I was there in October and he told me he had been sick but had received a favorable report and was feeling pretty good. I can always find a place to have the machines fixed, but I'll miss the talks with Bill LaPorte.

I
met Bill when I was about 15, he worked for my family fixing
outboard motors, and I was lucky enough to be his helper for
a while. He made an impression on me that has lasted a lifetime
and I will miss him.
Over the years since I returned from military service he's
made reapirs to my outboard motors and has also told me how
to do some of my own to save the cost. We would talk some
about times past and fishing, then another season would pass.
He always made me feel especially happy when I saw him, and
looking forward to seeing him again. Now I will greatly miss
his gentle spirit and tremendous strength and keep his memory
close to my heart.
