Kingsford––– Linnea
Marie Burdick, 17, of 513 Waverly Street, Kingsford, entered
eternal life Monday evening, February 12, 2007, as the result
of an automobile accident in Munising.
Linnea was born September 20, 1989, in Marquette, the daughter
of William L. and Dawn M. (King) Burdick. For most of her
life, she had resided in Kingsford and only recently moved
back to Marquette to reside with her grandparents. She attended
the Alternative School in Kingsford where her interests
included being involved in the wrestling program for seven
years, earning many awards through the years. Linnea also
loved music and especially enjoyed singing in the Kingsford
High School chorus. She also liked to hunt and spend time
with her friends, mostly listening to music.
Linnea is survived by her father, William (Jennifer) Burdick
of Harvey; her mother, Dawn (Duane Osieczonek) Demeuse of
Kingsford; her brother and best friend, William “Billy”
Burdick of Harvey; step-sisters, Nicole Kubond of Harvey,
Ashley Osieczonek of Niagara, WI, and Amanda Osieczonek
of Kingsford; step-brothers, Jason Kubond of New Orleans,
LA, Michael Lamere of Harvey, Brandon and Tyler Rose of
Iron Mountain; paternal grandfather, Robert (Joanne) Burdick
of Marquette; paternal grandmother, Nancy DePetro of Neenah,
WI.; paternal great-grandmother, Faye DePetro of Marquette;
maternal grandfather, Charles King of Iron Mountain; maternal
grandmother, Bonnie King of Escanaba; maternal great-grandmother,
Adele Kivi of Escanaba; maternal great-grandmother, Rosalee
King of Hastings; several aunts and uncles, Robert (Tammy)
Burdick and Jim Burdick both of Neenah, WI, Tom Falk of
Oshkosh, WI, Glenn (Kathy) King of Escanaba, and Greg (Amanda)
King of East Lansing; her godparents, Larry and Bernie Gilbertson
of Marquette; numerous great-aunts, uncles, and cousins;
and her very special friend, Alicia Burbank of Iron Mountain.
Linnea was preceded in death by her paternal great-grandfather,
Daniel DePetro; maternal great-grandfather, Hugo Kivi; and
maternal great-grandfather, Charlie T. King.
Friends may call at the Fassbender Funeral Home on Thursday,
February 15, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. A Service of Remembrance
will be held in the funeral home on Thursday evening at
6:00 pm with Pastor Bud Holmes of the Lake Superior Christian
Church, officiating. Honorary escorts will be Robert and
Jim Burdick, Glenn and Greg King.
