Munising––Anna Mae Sullivan,
76, of 815 W. Munising Avenue, Munising, and former Grand
Marais resident, entered eternal life Thursday noon, February
22, 2007, at Marquette General Hospital.
Anna Mae was born June 29, 1930, in Detroit, a daughter
of Patrick D. and Lona E. (Swafford) Sullivan, and was raised
in Detroit. She graduated from St. Mary of Redford High
School and then enrolled at Marygrove College in Detroit,
receiving a degree in education. For over 34 years, Anna
Mae taught first grade in the Detroit School System, retiring
in 1986. Following retirement, she moved to Grand Marais
where she served as librarian at the local community center
and was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Grand
Marais. Four years ago, she moved to Munising, residing
at the Superior Health Haven, where she made many new friends.
In her leisure, Anna Mae was an avid reader, active BINGO
participant, and enjoyed following the activities of her
many nieces, nephews, and their families.
Survivors include her sister, Barbara L. (Theodore) Collins
of Renton, WA; a brother-in-law, Charlie Bringman of Elmwood,
TN; thirteen nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and
nephews. Anna Mae was preceded in death by her parents and
a sister, Rosemary Bringman.
Honoring her request, no services will be scheduled. Memorials
may be directed to the Patient Activity Fund at the Superior
Health Haven, 815 W. Munising Avenue, Munising, MI 49862.
