Sundell, MI–– Dorothy Jean
Beilke, 54, of N5263 Stuer Road, Sundell, entered eternal
life Wednesday morning, December 20, 2006, as a result of
injuries sustained from an automobile accident. Dorothy
was born on October 1, 1952, a daughter of Leo and Jeanette
(Stuer) Virta and was a 1970 graduate of Eben High School.
She was a dedicated employee of Wal-Mart for the last fourteen
years. Dorothy was a huge animal activist, volunteering
with the Alger County Animal Shelter by delivering bags
of broken or damaged food from Wal-Mart to the shelter.
She held a special place in her heart for wayward animals
that no one else would take time for. Her greatest passion
in life was her grandchildren. Everything she did revolved
around them, never missing a game, a play, concert, or any
other activity. Dorothy was greatly loved and will always
hold a place in our hearts. She is survived by her daughters,
Jessica Henderson (Howard West), and Rebecca Edwards (Jack
Charlebois), both of Chatham; her uncle, Lee Stuer, of Rumely;
two brothers, Joe Virta, of Washington, and Dan (Beth) Virta,
of Rumely; sister, Karen (Paul) Waldschmidt, of Wisconsin;
four grandchildren, Krysta, Dylan, Cole, and Ryan; special
friends, Kristi Charlebois, Maranda Charlebois, Katie Wares,
Rita Niemi, and Barry & Mary Campbell; and numerous nieces,
nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday December
23, 2006 in the Fassbender Funeral Home with a relative
of the family leading prayers. Visitation will be from 12
noon on Saturday until time of services in the funeral home.
Burial will be made in Holy Cross Cemetery.
