We were so saddened to hear of Chris's passing. We are his
neighbors at our part time residence in Big Bay. Though he
was quite quiet & reserved, he was a most wonderful neighbor
and watched out for our camp in the winter months. My Husband,
Jim and he developed a very warm repoir over that last five
years or so. As recently as three weeks ago, they chatted
while stacking up wood for the winter. Sleep well, Chris,
you will be missed, yet we take great joy in knowing that
you are free from all the pain born of the disease. We will
look for you in the Northern Lights. peace and blessings,

We
would like to share our favorite memory of Chris with his family:
Big Bay became our permanent home more than 13 years ago. At
the time both of us traveled into Marquette 5 days each week,
leaving home about 7 a.m. and not returning until approximately
6 p.m. During the winter months we often got many inches of
snow during the work week. We would come home to a plowed driveway
each day it snowed more than a couple inches. After a period
of time, we figured out it must be Chris who was plowing our
driveway. When Jerry went to visit Chris he acknowledged he
was the one doing the plowing. As Jerry thanked him for his
kindness he replied, "You two have to go into Marquette
every work day and I have the time to plow. Chris continued
this kindness for several years. We will always be grateful
and hold this memory of Chris throughout our lifetimes. We were
pleased to have known Chris!
