I worked at Dina,s Quality Market in Negaunee for many years
and Dina and I always looked forward to Al,s comming in with
the delivery of bread and rolls. We always called him "Bunny
Hop"!! He sure was a wonderful man, and some one I will
always remember.

As
a young boy all my Uncles were my heros. My Uncle Jim was special
to me' it was on spring lake he would let me pilot his boat
around, fish from & also learnd to water ski.Up in the U.P.
at "the farm " with my parents we would visit and enjoy the
beauty and bounty of the farm. We would "us boys " my brother
and a frind or two, would race up to The high medow and view
lake Superior.Eat thimble berry's, apples,and black berry's
until we would get a sore gut.Learn to Shoot a .22 rifle at
tin can's and old cup's under supervision of Uncle Jim or uncle
Merrion . I enjoyed the music U.J. would play on his mandolin.
Uncle Jim liked classic country and western like Johnny Cash.
Uncle Jim was a real war Hero fighting the "G.D. Japs"His word's,
He and My Uncle Hugo had quite a time on Sipan. He would tell
of daily air raids from zero fighters straffing them or being
pined down to the ground by sniper fire until nightfall. To
me he was a man's Man.Self relient and proud I wanted to be
like Him. I will remember him and miss him sorely and I will
share his story's that he shared with me. Godspeed dear Uncle.

Years
ago "Al" delivered bread to my parent's business, the Viga Bowling
Alleys in Negaunee. I was little more than a child but looked
forward to his deliveries. Such a wonderful person, always ready
with a smile for by brother and me. I recognized his picture
immediately....don't even know if I ever knew his last name.
Please accept my sincere condolences.

So
sorry about the loss of your dad. May God comfort you in your
time of sorrow. I was very saddened by his death as it happened
to be on the 3 year anniversary of my own dad's death. My thoughts
and prayers are with you all at this time.
