MARQUETTE – Cynthia Marie “Tia” Soli, 55, of 2472 Huron Street, Marquette, entered eternal life Saturday evening, October 21, 2006, in the Hospice Suite located at Marquette General Hospital, in the loving, compassionate care of her family and the caregivers of Lake Superior Hospice.
Tia was born November 12, 1950 in Marquette, a daughter of William H. and Elaine M. (Swanson) Wanberg, and was a lifelong Marquette resident. Tia was a 1968 graduate of the Marquette Senior High School, later worked as a teller at the former Union National Bank, and then as a caseworker with the Marquette County Department of Social Services. A hard worker, Tia put her all into each employment. In 1978, she moved to LasVegas, Nevada, where she was employed for three years as an auditor with the Tropicana Casino. She returned to Marquette and was employed as a plant operator with Wisconsin Electric at the Presque Isle Power Plant, for 25 years, retiring due to ill health.
Tia’s hobbies and special interests included her love of playing the piano, skiing, knitting, crocheting, gardening, and a special talent for interior decorating. Her special love and passion revolved around her two grandsons, Tyler and Noah.
Survivors include her husband, Roger K. Soli whom she married February 22, 1985; her son, William (Jessica) TenEyck of Marquette; grandsons, Tyler and Noah; her parents, William and Elaine Wanberg of Marquette; sister, Jill (Bob) Frazee of Marquette; mother-in-law, LouElla Ellis of L’Anse; former mother-in-law, Agnes TenEyck of Big Bay; and several aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Private family services were held at the Fassbender Funeral Home with Chaplain Gerald Riley officiating. Burial was made in the Park Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers or food donations, memorials be directed to the Marquette County Humane Society, 84 Snowfield Road, Negaunee, MI 49866.
