MEMORY TRIBUTE

A Memory Tribute to Philip Pezzuto

I've got so many memories of Granpa, I don't know where to start! I think, like Emily said, all of us grandkids for sure remember dressing Granpa up when he fell asleep at holiday dinners...what I'll never, ever forget is the day he took Alexandra and I to Taft's, as he called it, and asked us to put some *FRINGLES* in the *BUGGY*. That man could have made a dictionary of Granpa-ism's good enough to rival Webster's!

He talked to me alot about family...and that's what I remember when I think of Granpa. It's a sense of comfort to know that he left impressions on us all that make us smile and remember each other. Last year, Stacy and I were in the same English class at NMU, and with out talling about it beforehand, we each wrote a paper that talked about Granpa and his funny sayings...lol! I wish I still had that...

Granpa only knew my babies for a short time, and Lainey took to calling him "Loud Papa" since she started speaking. :) Ty always had a big smile and a laugh when Granpa started talking in his best "oochie coochie" baby talk. And me? Granpa showed me a lot of things and probably ment a lot more to me now then he did when I was younger. If nothing else, I'll never look at the little things the same way again!

I love you, Granpa!

I have many memories of grandpa-- when my brothers and I were young, he would come and visit us from Chicago bringing Italian bread, candy, and "sugar pop." He would fall asleep in a chair, and we would drive matchbox cars all over him and he wouldn't wake up!

He also used to take us to visit Michigan's Adventure. I remember the attendant at the Loggers Run told grandpa he had to take his hat off, but grandpa just put it backwards and said it would be fine. Of course, the hat flew off on the way down the hill, and all of us grandkids thought it was funny. Then we had to stand and wait for the hat to float around again so grandpa could fish it out.

He liked to tell us grandkids about the Korean War. I wish I had a chance to see him one more time. Maybe I could let my kids drive cars on him when he fell asleep in his chair. : ) Goodbye grandpa.
