Died May 15, 2006

Paul Roger Kecker, 64, of 1910 Sugar Loaf Avenue, Marquette, entered eternal life Monday, May 15, 2006, at his home.

Born January 28, 1942 in Ishpeming, a son of Glenn Arthur and Evelyn (Collick) Kecker, Paul was raised Palmer and later graduated from the Negaunee High School.  Paul was employed by CCI as a stoker at the Empire Mine and later worked for the Lake Superior and Ishpeming Railroad for several years before retiring due to disability.  In his leisure, Paul greatly enjoyed the outdoors, nature, and animals.  He was an avid cribbage player, liked to read, play checkers, and spend time at the Tourist Park.  His greatest enjoyment, however, came from hearing about his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his son, Glenn Paul (Stephanie) Kecker of Ishpeming; a daughter, Annie Marie Kecker of Negaunee; his grandchildren, Daniel Ryan Soulliere, Dallas Steven Kecker, and Lyric Amelia-Anne Kecker; a sister, Margaret Maki and companion, Rocky Schofield, of Ishpeming; a niece, Christi Kecker; three nephews, Roger Ekdahl, John Maki, and Glenn Maki; and his special friends, Keren and Tracy Smith, and Heather Pelkie.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters,  Bonnie Kecker and Beverly Harju.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the Fassbender Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 30, beginning at 5:00 pm.  A Service of Remembrance will follow at 6:30 pm Tuesday evening in the funeral home.
