Leona A. “Lee” Flynn, 86, of 921 N. Fourth Street, Marquette, entered eternal life Thursday morning, May 11, 2006, at her home.
Born March 22, 1920 in Osier, a daughter of Fred L. and Angeline (Blondeau) Chenail, Lee was raised in Osier and was a 1939 graduate of the Rock High School. In 1945, she married Vernon B. Flynn and together the couple made their home and raised their family in Marquette. Throughout the years, Lee was employed in the meat department at the former Red Owl grocery and then at the former Dick’s Family Foods, retiring in 1989. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church where she was very active in the church’s altar society and community services organization. Lee was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary #2439, and the former Daughters of Isabella. In her leisure, Lee enjoyed working crossword puzzles, bowling, and craftwork. She will also be remembered for her love of snow shoveling, being a familiar sight on Fourth Street during winter blizzards, keeping her driveway completely clear of the white stuff.
