Donald A. Murray, Jr, 48, of 318 Fortress, Gwinn, entered eternal life Sunday morning, April 9, 2006, at his home.

Don was born September 24, 1957 in Detroit, a son of Donald Arthur and Rosemary (Trost) Murray, Sr. He was raised in Detroit and later served in the US Army for two years. On August 11, 1979 he married Veronica R. Kroupa in Troy, and the couple resided in Munising for a time. During the years 1981 to 1983, Don attended Northern Michigan University where he received training in refrigeration. In 1983 the couple moved to Waterford where Don was employed in commercial refrigeration as a heating and cooling technician. The couple moved to the Gwinn area in June 2005.

In his leisure, Don enjoyed caring for his salt water fish tank and riding his motorcycle. He possessed an awesome personality, seemingly quiet, but enjoyed joking around and especially liked spending time with his family.

Don is survived by his wife, Veronica; two daughters, Jessica (Kenneth) Puderbach of Marquette and Katie Murray of Waterford; a son, Benjamin (Jodie) Murray of Marquette; two grandchildren, Michael and Darren Murray; his mother, Rosemary Murray of Eastpointe; two sisters, Mary (Mario) Marino of Ecorse and Margie Earnest of Hazel Park; two brothers, Roy Murray and Kevin Murray both of Eastpointe; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Don was preceded in death by his father in 1981.

Friends may call at the Fassbender Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 12, beginning at 11:00 am. A Service of Remembrance will follow at 1:00 pm Wednesday afternoon with Rev. Leon Jarvis, Marquette General Hospital chaplain, officiating.
