Ronald Joseph Dollar, 77, of 2062 Werner Street, Marquette, entered eternal life Wednesday morning, March 15, 2006, at home.
Born September 30, 1928, in Marquette, a son of Owen and Florence (Bolduc) Dollar, Ron was a lifelong resident. He served in the US Navy during World War II, entering in 1945 and being honorably discharged in 1949 with the rank of Yeoman Third Class. Ron was a self-employed bricklayer, owning and operating Dollar Construction. He was a Gold Card member of the Bricklayers and Allied Craftsworkers Local 6, where he was an instructor in the local’s apprenticeship program. Ron was also a member of the Marquette Golf and Country Club.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth “Betsy” (Maki) Dollar, whom he married in 1950; his daughter, Sandy Cote of Marquette; his grandchildren, Jamie (Zack) Federau of Lansing, Jennifer (Dustin) Morey residing in Wisconsin, David Cote, Staci Salo, and Jason Salo all of Marquette; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Shirley (Richard) Handrahan of Marquette; and brothers, Jude Dollar of Negaunee, Wesley (Lucille) Dollar of Marquette, Dale Dollar residing in California, and Loyola (Jacqueline) Dollar residing in Arizona; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Salo; infant daughter, Ronelle Dollar; granddaughter, Taylor Ann Federau; and a brother, Lowell Dollar.
