Frances Re Hill, 73, formerly of 777 Pioneer Road, Marquette, entered eternal life Wednesday, February 15, 2006, in San Diego, California.
Born April 28, 1932 in Shamrock, Texas, to William C. and Frances R. (Haynes) Sloss, she was raised in the Texas Panhandle area, near Childress, Texas. On July 9, 1950 she married Vilho “Vic” Hill in Henrietta, Texas. The couple moved to the Marquette area in October 1957 where they established their home and began raising their family. Re, as she was known, worked for many years as a housekeeper for various families in the area, and in later years as a caregiver. In December of 2000 she moved to San Diego, CA, where she resided with her daughter, Rhonda Rugolo and her family, who was by then her caregiver. She attended the Harvey Baptist Church, of which she was a charter member.
Surviving her is her husband, Vilho “Vic” Hill of Marquette; two daughters,
Rhonda (Ralph) Rugolo of San Diego, CA, and Anita (Randy) Patterson of Texarkana, TX; two sons, Bruce (Tina) Hill of Sussex, WI and Timothy (Carole) Hill of Texarkana, AR; a son-in-law, Holbert Walton of Texarkana, AR; sixteen grandchildren, Amanda (Keith) Jones, Danielle (Joe) Woodard, MeLinda Loomis, and Stephanie (Joey) McLaughlin all of Arkansas, Kalin, Andrea, and Victoria Hill of Texarkana, AR, Shanna and Zackery Patterson of Texarkana, TX, Tony, Brandon, Matt, Nick, and Nate Hill of Sussex, WI, Jolene Kunde of Skandia, and Josh Hill of San Diego, CA; six great-grandchildren, Healey and Amber Loomis, Lauran Beck, Christian Woodard, Jacob Jones, and Gabrielle McLaughlin all of Arkansas; one sister, Mildred Maloney of Gainsville, TX; and one brother, Dee (Glenda) Sloss of Amarillo, TX; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Re was preceded in death by a son, Donald Dee Hill on June 5, 1956; a daughter, Cheryl F. Walton on April 27, 2001; three brothers, Ed, Bill, and R.C. Sloss; and two sisters, Flora Thompson and Georgia Russell.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Fassbender Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 7, beginning at 12:00 noon. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm Wednesday afternoon, in the funeral home, with Pastor Alan McCall of the Harvey Baptist Church officiating. Graveside services will be held at the Mathias Township Cemetery in Trenary at 3:00 pm Wednesday.The Fassbender Funeral Home is serving the family.
