Peter James Trotochaud, Sr., 76, of 1942 Orchard Street, Marquette, entered eternal life Friday evening, January 6, 2006, after a brief illness.
Peter was born May 4, 1929 in Marquette, a son of Wilfred and M. Ida (Miron) Trotochaud, and was a lifelong Marquette resident. He was a graduate of the Bishop Baraga High School and later served in the US Marine Corps from 1948 to 1952, during the Korean Conflict. He was employed for many years as a construction worker, primarily with Lindberg and Sons Construction Company, also working at local taverns for many years. Peter especially enjoyed the time spent with his “grandcritters” and was also an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, camping, gardening, golfing, playing the lottery, coin and stamp collecting. He was a member of the former St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
Survivors include:
Two daughters Terri Ann (Jim Perron) Trotochaud of Marquette; Lois Trotochaud and family of Macomb, IL
Two sons: Peter J. Trotochaud Jr and family of Ishpeming; Michael (Sally) Trotochaud and family of Bristol, WI
Special grandson: Peter J. Trotochaud III of Crystal Falls; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Also surviving is the family of his late daughter, Laura Andrikowski.
In addition to his parents, Peter was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa F. Trotochaud on April 5, 2005; daughter, Laura Andrikowski; a sister, Therese Bugni; and brothers, Mark Trotochaud Sr and Daniel Trotochaud Sr.
Friends may call at the Fassbender Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 10, beginning at 12:00 noon. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home at 1:00 pm Tuesday afternoon with Rev. Leon Jarvis, Marquette General Hospital chaplain, officiating. Burial will be made in the Northland Chapel Gardens.
