Margaret M. Sarasien, 87, formerly of 2321 Fitch Ave., Marquette, entered eternal life early Monday morning, December 12, 2005, at the Mather Nursing Center in Ishpeming.
Born December 1, 1918 in Marquette, a daughter of the late Fabian and Ann (Anderson) Deschaine, she was a 1937 graduate of the Bishop Baraga High School, and was a lifelong Marquette resident. On September 13, 1947 she married Clarence A. Sarasien in Marquette. Margaret was employed as an office clerk at various area businesses for over 43 years, retiring in 1980. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, was an avid BINGO participant, and enjoyed bowling, going to camp and the casino.
Survivors include:
Two sons, Richard (Ann) Brightman of Charlottesville, VA and Thomas (Vickie) Sarasien of Marquette
Grandchildren: Steven (Renee) Brightman; Kathleen (Adam) Gragg; and Michael Sarasien
Great-grandsons: Mathew Brightman and Nathan Gragg
Sister-in-law: Betty Deschaine of Marquette
Several nieces and nephews
And many special friends
In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence A. Sarasien on January 10, 2000; and brothers, Bernard and Leo Deschaine.
No services or visitation are scheduled at this time. A memorial service will be held in the spring. Inurnment will be made in the Holy Cross Cemetery.
