Marian E. Petrocik, 89, a lifelong resident of Marquette and Ishpeming, entered eternal life early Sunday morning, December 25, 2005, at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility in Ishpeming. Marian’s faith was her lifelong source of comfort and strength, and it was most appropriate that her Lord receive her into his presence on the feast of his birth.
Marian was born March 15, 1916 in Marquette, a daughter of Martin and Mary Ann (Hollister) Rustenhoven. She was raised in Marquette and was a 1937 graduate of the Graveraet High School. On February 12, 1944 she married John Petrocik and the couple set about establishing their home and family, which would include seven children. In addition to her parents, Marian was preceded in death by her sister, Lucille Rustenhoven and brother, Martin Rustenhoven III.

Marian was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Ishpeming and was also a dedicated volunteer at the Ishpeming Senior Center.
Friends may call at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Ishpeming on Friday, December 30, beginning at 10:00 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Friday morning with Rev. Msgr. Peter Oberto, pastor, as celebrant. A reception for family and friends will follow in the church fellowship hall. Burial will be made in the Park Cemetery, Marquette.
