To Lucille's family,
I met Lucille in 1963 when I began working as a high school student at St. Mary's Hospital kitchen. I soon was taken under Lucille's wing, taught to make room visits regarding special diets, and became her backup. I continued working with Lu through college and then I moved on as a teacher in lower Michigan. But....Lu knitted me a beautiful poncho, which I still have, gave me her recipe for traditional French Canadian pork pies, which I have made during the holiday for the past 30+years, and hosted a baby shower for me before I had my first child in 1970; this all took place after I left Marquette. What a lady!!
Lucille was a significant influence in my early years and a wonderful role model: trustworthy, honest, great sense of humor, giving, a teacher, a true friend (even though many years separated us).
I will never forget her and what she gave to me during those years.
