Bernice Grace Strahl, 76, formerly of 222 S. Fifth Street, Marquette, entered eternal life Monday morning, November 7, 2005, at the Norlite Nursing Center.
Bernice was born November 21, 1928 in Negaunee, a daughter of Clifford J. and Lillian (Hulverson) Pleau, and was raised in Palmer. She was a 1946 graduate of St. Paul’s Catholic High School in Negaunee. Bernice later attended the Mother Cabrini Memorial Hospital Nursing School in Chicago, Illinois, graduating in 1950 as a registered nurse. On June 22, 1968, she married Leonard J. Strahl. Bernice was employed at various hospitals in the area, among them Bell Memorial Hospital in Ishpeming, and retired in 1984.

Daughters: Kathy (Charles) Hudson of Harvey and Cheryl Ann (Randy) Bergman of Ishpeming
Grandchildren: Trish (Brian) Morcom; Shannon Hudson; Daniel Bergman; Michael Bergman
Great-granddaughter: Kristiann Locke
Two great-grandsons
Brother: Earl Pleau of Negaunee
Sister: Shirley Jandreau of Palmer
Special Aunt: Hazel Hulverson of Marquette
Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leonard Strahl; a brother-in-law, Richard Jandreau; and a special aunt, Myrtle Portale.
Honoring Bernice’s request, no services will be scheduled.
Inurnment will be made in the Negaunee Cemetery.
