MEMORY TRIBUTE

A Memory Tribute to Kenneth Bartol

I believe I served on the USS Hunley with Ken back in 1972 on Guam. I was on the Hunley from
Jan. '72 until Sept. '75. When you first get to the ship you have to do mess cooking. We arrived around the same time. If this is my old shipmate I am sorry to hear of his passing.

So sorry to hear about a cousin of mine passing away who I never really knew well, but knew his parents well. I am Jennie Ruuska's daughter, Nancy, and it's a shame our extended families don't know each other. My brother, Allen, sent me the obituary yesterday. It's so hard to lose a family member, especially a young one, believe me I know. I hope you stay strong and keep his memories in your heart; he sounds like he was a great guy!!! My sympathy goes out to the entire family!!

Ken was a former high school classmate of mine. He was a very quiet man and was always cordial to me when we greeted each other in the hallways. I am saddened by his passing and wish to send my condolences to all of his family members. Marquette has lost a real citizen.
