Sharon Elizabeth Burdick, 61, of 1625 Erickson Avenue, Marquette, entered eternal life early Tuesday morning, September 27, 2005, at her home, in the comforting care of her family and the caregivers of Lake Superior Hospice.
Born April 7, 1944 in Ishpeming, a daughter of Richard and Sylvia (Aho) Nelson, Sharon was raised in Sundell and graduated from the Eben High School. On December 1, 1962, she married Herbert J. Burdick and together the couple made their home and raised their family in Marquette. For over 23 years Sharon was employed as a bookkeeper and head cashier at the Marquette Red Owl until the store’s closure. In her leisure, Sharon enjoyed using her computer and baking for family and friends.
Survivors include:
Her husband: Herbert J. Burdick
Two sons: Steven (Marina) Burdick of Eden Prairie, MN and Brian Burdick at home
A soon-to-be expected grandchild
Her sisters: Marina (Frank) Krajewski of Munising and Rita LeMaire of Sundell
Brothers: Richard (Mary) Nelson, Jr and William (Bonnie) Nelson both of Sundell; Edwin (Caroline) Nelson of Eben; Robert (Joyce) Nelson of Forest Lake
Several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; infant twin daughters, Theresa and Lisa Burdick; a sister, Patricia Nelson; and brother-in-law, Rod LeMaire.
Honoring Sharon’s request no services will be scheduled.
