James L. Dauphinais, 59, of 148 Aspen Drive, Harvey, entered eternal life Saturday evening, July 2, 2005, at his home, in the comforting care of his family.  Jim had been in ill health for several months.

In his leisure, Jim enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, being an active BINGO participant, and was an avid hunter and fisherman.  In addition to being a member of the Carpenter’s Union, he was also a member of the West Branch Sportsman’s Club.

Jim is survived by his wife, Shirley J. (LeMieux) Dauphinais, whom he married February 14, 1986; six sons, James (Terri) Dauphinais Jr of Minot, ND, Jeff (Lisa) Dauphinais of Ishpeming, Jody Dauphinais of Billings, MT, Andrew (Kelly) Dauphinais of Negaunee, Darryl (Jamie) Lancour and Daniel (Clarissa) Lancour both of Marquette; several grandchildren and one great-grandson; two sisters, Carol Martin of Negaunee and Sharon (Lloyd) Black of Marquette; a brother, Edward (Shirley) Dauphinais of Marquette; and several nieces and nephews.  Jim was preceded in death by his parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 7, at 11:00 am, at St. Louis the King Catholic Church in Harvey with Rev. Ben Paris, pastor, as celebrant.  The family will greet relatives and friends at a reception in the church fellowship hall following mass.

The family would like to express special appreciation to Jim’s caregiver, Linda Lake, Marquette General Hospital doctors, nurses, and staff, Fr. Ben, Fr. Johnson, and Deacon Francis for the many kindnesses they extended to Jim and his family.
