Bruce Berrien Barrow, 70, of 10518 Lakeshore Road, Elk Rapids, Michigan, entered eternal life Wednesday, July 13, 2005 at the Mather Nursing Center, Ishpeming, where he had resided since 2002.

Bruce was born January 26, 1935 in Trenton, Michigan, a son of Russell J. and Goldy (Reno) Barrow. He was a graduate of the Trenton High School and Albion College and had received his Master’s Degree in Education from Eastern Michigan University.  Bruce taught in the Trenton Public School system for 36 years and had also taught many night school/adult education classes throughout the downriver area. After retiring and relocating to Elk Rapids, Michigan, Bruce spent much of his time traveling, and visiting friends across the states.

Bruce is survived by:
Two daughters, Nancy L. (Scott) Machalk of Marquette and Jil Helgren of Champion

His grandchildren, Elise and Leanne VanRemortel, Amanda and Spencer Helgren

His brother, Dale (Janet) Barrow of Trenton.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents.
