Edward C. Wilder, 62, former Marquette resident, entered eternal life Thursday evening, June 23, 2005, at the Tendercare Nursing Home in Sault Ste Marie, Michigan, where he had resided since 1985.
Eddie was born October 3, 1942 in Marquette, a son of Lloyd F. and Myrtle (DesJardins) Wilder. Having several disabilities, he resided in Marquette until the age of six when more specialized care was required. Throughout the years, his family, with the assistance of many caregivers, added to Eddie’s quality of life and extended what had been anticipated as a brief lifetime.

His sister, Joan (Glenn) Touchinski of Marquette
His brother, William (Marcella) Wilder of Negaunee
Two aunts, Justine DesJardins and Sally DesJardins of Marquette
His uncle, Kelly DesJardins of Detroit
Several nieces and nephews, William (Wendy) Wilder, Wendy (Darrel) Wernholm, Wayne Wilder, Wally (Pam) Wilder, David (Brenda) Touchinski, Jeffrey (Suzanne) Touchinski, Susan Touchinski, and Robert Touchinski.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Robert Wilder.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Peter Cathedral on Monday, June 27, at 2:00 pm with Rev. Roy Joseph as celebrant. Burial will be made in the Holy Cross Cemetery. There will be no visitation. A reception for family and friends will be held at the home of Joan and Glenn Touchinski, 315 W. Hampton Street, following the mass.
