Lena worked with Dan in security and we enjoyed having him at the Christmas parties with his wife and kids. Dan was a very kind and caring man. He will be missed dearly.

I've worked with Dan for almost 11 years as another Security Supervisor at the casino. I will miss Dan; but he will live on in my memories. My sincerest condolences also go out to all of Dan's family for your lose of such a great man. "Good bye friend"

Dan was our Supervisor at the Casino. We both enjoyed him very much. He will always be remembered in our hearts and sadly missed by many.

Dear Shelafoe family,
I am so sorry about Dan. I haven't seen him, or JoAnn, in twenty years. Your family was a big part of my childhood- my next door neighbors! I remember sleeping over and Michelle and I giggling and bugging the boys half the night. (Dan was always pretty quiet, JoAnn had to tell us to shut-up!!!) There were only Danny and Billy at that time, then later Christopher was born but we moved before he grew up.
The picture of Dan was not like I remember him. I remember a Dan with black, curly, not to short, not to long hair. But, alot changes in twenty years. Actually, twenty years ago, he was thirty-five, I'm 31 now, but when you're ten, thirty five is pretty old.
My parents, Mark and Judy, send their condolences. We are all very sorry, I can't imagine the difficult time you are all going through right now, but you all are in our thoughts and prayers.

May God be with u JoAnn and ur children. Loss is very hard to overcome but with friends family and the love of God u will make it. There are no words to express our deepest sympathy for the passing of Dan but know he is with the creator and looking down on u and ur loved ones and his spirit will be with u always.

I did not know Mr. Shelafoe but my son and I are friends of Christophers. We want you to know our thoughts are with you at this time. Please get ahold of us if you need anything. 228-2625 in case you forgot. We love you and are thinking of you at this hard time in your life. I also lost my father 2 weeks ago, I know somewhat what you are going thru. Keep all the memories you have. They will get you through.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Dan was a wonderful person to work with. As I traveled down from Baraga to work in Marquette Dan would always ask me how my trip was and to make sure before I left that I had a safe trip home. He will be missed dearly.

I know how hard it is as well as your family does with losses, as we lost my dad one year ago in February.
