Anna Elaine (Stillwell) Dewey, age 82, of 1634 East M 28, Marquette, passed away Friday morning, September 24, 2004, at Marquette General Hospital.
Anna was born February 17, 1922 in Lansing, a daughter of Leah and William Stillwell. She attended the Lansing schools and graduated from Central Michigan College of Education in 1944 with a degree in girl’s physical education. She later taught girl’s physical education in Coldwater. In 1946 she married Robert C. Dewey of Bellaire. The couple had been Marquette area residents since 1956.
Anna enjoyed playing the organ and accordion and was interested in all winter and summer sports, especially skiing and skating. Throughout the years, she served as a lifeguard instructor, a Girl Scout leader, and a Brownie Scout leader.
Anna is survived by her husband, Robert, of Marquette; a son, Carl of Sacramento, CA; a daughter, Suzanne of Marquette; one grandson; one granddaughter; a great-grandson; one brother, two sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, a sister-in-law, and two nephews.
No funeral service is planned and burial will be made in Lower Michigan.
